Susan O Binns

Susan O. Binns is an expert in the field of addictions, including alcohol and other dependencies. as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, National Certified Alcohol Counselor and a National Certified Recovery Specialist. Ms. Binns earned her degree in Human Development from Trevecca College. Susan has over 30 years of experience in developing and implementing treatment and prevention programs. During these years, she has been a therapist, manager, advocate, prevention specialist and held many leadership positions with various Nashville-based programs. She is currently a consultant, therapist and serves on several boards. Susan has been actively involved with all areas of the alcohol and drug field including, treatment, prevention, management, clinical and legislative action.

Ms. Binns is President of the Music City Recovery Resources Foundation, Inc. and in that capacity spearheaded the development and implementation of an extended care facility for recovering women. The creation of YANA, a safe home for recovering women, was the fulfillment of her long term desire to improve services for women in the Middle Tennessee Region. YANA stands for You Are Never Alone, which appropriately addresses the many fears women face in early recovery. In her role as the Executive Director of YANA, Susan has helped hundreds of women on a one on one and group basis. In addition to the work within the alcohol and drug field, Ms. Binns has had extensive business experience. She was the owner of two successful Nashville based businesses, one in printing and the other in investments and development. Susan is a Charter Board Member of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences.

In summary, Susan is a dynamic individual who understands addictions and the needs of chemically dependent individuals and is extremely practiced in her approach to the development and implementation of treatment and prevention services and programs.
