NARR Annual

Best Practices Summit

As the foremost organization setting recovery housing standards nationwide, NARR’s work shapes policy and practice across dozens of states. Each year, our national summit brings together recovery housing allies to explore cutting-edge initiatives, research, and the evolving application of social model recovery principles.

Now in its second decade, the NARR Summit has become the premier national gathering for anyone invested in the quality, accessibility, and effectiveness of recovery housing. At the 2024 summit, held in Richmond, VA, we welcomed over 500 attendees —our most engaged and diverse audience yet. The conference featured dynamic keynotes, breakout sessions led by national leaders, and powerful peer learning moments that inspired attendees to strengthen recovery communities back home.

A standout addition in 2024 was the introduction of a dedicated track for recovery peers working within recovery housing. This new offering was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, providing targeted training, shared experiences, and connections among peers on the frontlines. Based on its success, the recovery peer track will now be a permanent part of future summits.

This unique event brings together recovery residence operators, affiliate leaders, policymakers, researchers, behavioral health professionals, and advocates—all committed to improving the recovery housing landscape. Whether you’re shaping systems, managing homes, or advancing policy, the NARR Summit offers the tools, connections, and insights to deepen your impact.
